Pants Workshop with Emma Seabrooke
Learn to fit a pants pattern to your body and make a pair of knit pants with Emma Seabrooke. During this one-day workshop, Emma will work with volunteer students to show how to:
- fit pant crotch lines
- remove wrinkles
- align a pattern to YOUR body’s straight of grain
- add darts
- fit the waist
- correct for one high hip/shorter leg/tummy/flat bum and other pant problems
You will use your new skills to alter your pattern and make a pair of knit pants. You will be able to use your customized pants pattern to make more paints in the future. The workshop fee includes one full day of instruction and lunch. Please bring a sewing machine and the items specified on the supply list.
Skill Level: Adventurous Beginner
Emma Seabrooke is a certified Palmer/Pletsch pant and fit instructor as well as an author of two books. She trained with a French couturier for several years and took many fashion design courses in college while obtaining her degree. Emma loves sewing with knits and has worked with patterns and fabrics to perfect the best styles for all sizes, also created a line of stay tapes to make sewing with knits easier. She has traveled and taught across the country and on TV. Her goal is to have everyone achieve clothing that looks, feels, and fits beautifully.
